Meet the blue check
What gold and blue mean, what it takes to get a blue check and why it pauses when you change your name or photo.

Today we're adding a second check to Sitemoon. Next to the gold check you may already know, there's now a blue one. They look alike at a glance, but they mean different things, and we want to be clear about both.
Gold: people and organizations of real note
The gold check is given by our team, by hand, to trusted people and organizations that are well known in their field. Think of a band people are searching for, a public figure, or a business with a name worth protecting. Nobody can apply for gold and nobody can buy it. We reach out, or we act on a request from someone we can verify.
That last part matters. A check you can buy stops meaning anything the moment it's for sale. So the gold check will never be for sale, at any price.
Blue: reviewed Pro members
The blue check is for Pro members who want visitors to know the page is real. It's not about fame. It says: a person at Sitemoon looked at this profile and it is who it says it is.
To apply, you need a finished profile:
- A clear profile photo
- Your real name or the name you're known by
- A bio that says what you do
- At least one social link that matches
Then tap Apply for a blue check on your dashboard. Our team reviews every application by hand. We check that the photo, name and links line up, and that nothing on the page breaks our rules. We'll let you know either way in your inbox.
A check should mean a person looked. That's the whole idea.
Why the check pauses
If you change your name or your photo, your blue check pauses until we take another look. It comes back as soon as the change is reviewed.
This can feel annoying, so here's why we do it. A checked page is trusted. If someone could get checked as one person, then quietly rename the page and swap the photo, the check would be vouching for a stranger. Pausing on those two changes closes that gap. Everything else, like your links, style, bio and blocks, you can change as often as you like with no pause.
It stays with Pro
The blue check shows while you're on Pro. If your plan ends, the check is hidden from your page. Renew and it comes right back, no new review needed.
Gold beats blue
If a page has both, we show the gold one. Gold already includes everything blue says, and two checks side by side would just be noise.
What a check doesn't mean
A check says the page is authentic. It isn't an endorsement of what someone sells or says, and it can be removed if a page breaks our Acceptable Use Policy.
When can I apply?
The blue check is part of Pro. Read Gold check and blue check in the docs for the full details, and keep an eye on your dashboard for the Apply button.
